A number of players from Cornwall have participated in Short Mat Players Tour events in recent years.

Over the weekend of 13th & 14th January the British Open was played in York with Nigel Nicholls (Newlyn Trinity) winning the tournament defeating Essex's Dominic Reed in the final.

The World Rankings are based on a rolling twelve event period whilst the Order of Merit is calculated over the six ranking singles tournaments in any one season and used to determine qualification for the World Cup.
